    • WIEGAND, Dr. Jack

      Dr. Jack Wiegand, died peacefully, on December 31, 2010, in Cambridge, in his 95th year, dear husband of Elizabeth (nee Drew-Brook). Jack is survived by his brother, David and wife Olga, who live in London, Ontario. He was predeceased by his brother, Bill in World War II, his brother Fred and sisters, Marjorie Kerber and Dorothy Beesley. Jack has two dear sons, Jim and John by his first wife, Jean Doyle, who predeceased him. He has five grandchildren, Jennifer, Karen, Kathy, Christopher, and Meagan, all children of Luanne Hancey. Jack was born in Toronto and attended the University of Toronto, where he received his medical training. Immediately after University, he joined the Canadian Air Force and after a brief time in Canada, he was sent to Yorkshire, England, where he was a Squadron Leader and M.O., of the station at Leeming. On returning home he went to Cambridge and set-up his practice, as a G.P. in which he remained for almost 50 years. He was a dedicated doctor and his many patients spoke very kindly of him. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Blair Road, Cambridge, on Wednesday January 5th at 2: 00 p.m.
