The death occurred, after an illness of a month's duration, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, June 2nd, of Mrs. Thomas Baker, a former well-known and highly esteemed resident of Ayr. Deceased came to Ayr some sixty years ago and married the late Thomas Baker, a son of William Baker, pioneer merchant of Ayr from 1844 on. The family lived in Ayr for some forty years, subsequently moving to Paris, where Mr. Baker died. The late Mrs. Baker resided in Paris for ten years, moving theme to Farrell, Pa., where she took up residence with her daughter, Miss Mae Baker. Mr. Cocks, pastor of the An Church, Paris. The pallbearers were: John Hall, Mr. Smoke, jr., Mr. Robinson and Mr. Crooks of Paris; 0. T. Scott of Caledonia and Mr. Patten of Toronto.
