  • Notes
    • Jacob Mosser, "was one of the early pioneer settlers of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to which his father had moved from Switzerland at a very early date. We find that they were members of the Mennonite faith which may have been the cause of their settling in Lancaster County. At so late a date and in the absence of all records it is hard to obtain all the desired information pertaining to this family. We could not obtain names of parents of Jacob. Tradition has it that his name was Peter and that he emigrated to America about the year 1754. His family is said to have consisted of seven or eight children. We know the names of two, namely: Anna, born February 8th, 1748, and died May 8th, 1823, who was married to old Henry Wanner (See Henry Wanner's family), and Jacob, who was born about the year 1751. He resided in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and was married and had a family. The names of two of the children were Jacob and Peter. Of Jacob we have no information, quite likely his descendants are yet residing in Lancaster and adjoining counties of Pennsylvania. Of Peter we have more information"
