Passed away peacefully at Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, October 25, 2012.
Beloved wife of the late John David ( Jack) Sim (1993). Loving mother of Sandy (Ruth) Sim, Shelley (Scott) Yandt, and Tom Sim, all of Kitchener. Cherished grandma of Leanne (Barry), Danielle, Deanna, Christine and great grandma of Wesley.
Predeceased by her parents, Percival and Catherine Shantz and her brother Merle Shantz.
Shirley retired from Grand River Hospital, K-W Site after 20 years of service in the operating rooms. She was a graduate of K-W School of Nursing. An active member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church and was a dedicated volunteer for Freeport Health Centre for 15 years, St. John's Soup Kitchen and Sunnyside Home. Shirley was also a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club.
Shirley's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6-8pm. The funeral service will follow at 8pm in the funeral home chapel. Cremation has taken place.
As expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
