  MARTIN, Onias B. Passed away peacefully at Heritage House Nursing Home, St. Jacobs, on Thursday, September 9th, in his 90th year. Onias was a life-long farmer and resident of Woolwich Township. He was predeceased in November 1998 by his wife of 46 years, Minerva (Hoffman, Bauman, Scheifele). Onias is survived by four step-children; Gordon (Gunhild) Scheifele of Tavistock, Willard (Connie) Scheifele of West Liberty Ohio, Nelson (Joy) Scheifele of Waterloo and Pearl (Bruce) Jutzi of Ottawa. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Predeceased by his parents Amos B. and Elvina (Bauman) Martin, two sisters Adeline (Mrs. Alvin) Bauman, Malinda (Mrs. Oziah) Martin and one brother Cleason (Salome). He is survived by three sisters Aleda (Mrs. Howard) Reist, Ermina (the late Harvey) Martin, and Perceda (the late Cecil) Musselman, all of the Elmira area. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Saturday (today) from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 12th, at 3 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church with Pastor Mark Diller Harder and Pastor Kevin Derksen officiating followed by interment in the St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Onias may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
