Notes |
- Death of Frederick Koehler - A well-known resident of New Hamburg passed away last Friday in the person of Mr. Frederick C. Koehler, at the age of 53 years, 11 months and 10 days. The deceased was stricken with jaundice about two months ago and other complications set in, which were the cause of his demise. The deceased was born in Kitchener on February 13th, 1877, where he attended school and received his church training in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He was married on November 7th, 1899, to Augusta Marshall, of New Hamburg. He moved to New Hamburg in 1901 and started a teaming business here and later acquired a farm. Being of an exceptionally cheerful disposition he made many friends and in his work about town he became well known to the children by whom he was much liked. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Besides his sorrowing widow he leaves two sons, Bernhard and Milton, both of Kitchener, two grandchildren, besides his aged mother, one brother William and one sister, Mrs. John Brinkert, all of Kitchener. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon to Trinity Lutheran Church, where the funeral service was held by the pastor, Rev. H.R. Mosig. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed.
