Notes |
- August Slumkoski - The many friends of Mr. August Slumkoski will be sorry to hear of his death, which occurred at his home, 183 Victoria Street, on Sunday evening at 11: 56 o'clock. The deceased was confined to his bed for two weeks, and while doing fairly well before that he was continually failing. He was 76 years, 2 months and 21 days of age, and was born in Germany. He came to Kitchener 48 years ago. He was employed at the Kaufman planing mill for 28 years, for 22 of which he was tireman. He also filled similar positions with the Dominion Button Co. and the Lang Tanning Co. As an employee he was reliable, faithful and conscientious. The deceased was well known and had many friends and acquaintances. The anguish occasioned by his demise, therefore, is more than confined to his family circle. Surviving the deceased are his second wife, Anna Giese, and one son of this union, Arthur Slumkoski of this city, and one son and three daughters of the first union, who are William of Vancouver, Mrs. Alf. Boehmer, Short Street, city, Mrs. Thomas Humphrey, Kitchener, and Mrs. Henry Martinz of Detroit. There are also two brothers and one sister, Gottfried of Kitchener and John of Williamsford, and Mrs. Gottfried Marklevitz of Kitchener. The funeral will be at 2: 30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the residence to Mount Hope Cemetery.
