    • LORNE MARTIN MERKLINGER - 1916 - 2006 - Passed away, peacefully after a lengthy illness, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on May 16, 2006, at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of Willy (nee Williamson). Sadly missed by his sister, Frieda Neeb of New Hamburg; his nieces, Irene Epp and Mary Ann (Larry) Keller both of New Hamburg; and his nephew, Ralph (Louise) Neeb of Gadshill. Lorne is survived by five great-nieces, two great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Emma (nee Schneider) Merklinger; a brother, Walter Merklinger; sister-in-law, Erma (nee Woelfle) Merklinger and a nephew Wilfred Epp. Lorne was a former resident of the Lutherwood Sunshine Centre, and was an employee of several K-W area small businesses including Beaver Lumber and Tony Obermeyer Construction. Friends are invited to share their memories of Lorne with his family at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John Street West, at Severn in Waterloo on Friday, May 19, 2006 from 12: 00 to 1 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Lorne's life will follow in the church at 1 p.m. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family in the church Parish hall for refreshments and a time to visit. Interment will then follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.
