  NEWMASTER, Gordon - On Sunday, Aug. 22, 1993, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after a brief illness. He was born in Wellesley township 78 years ago, a son of the late Louis and Olive (Lantz) Newmaster. He resided in Baden and was the former owner and operator of Gord's Confectionary in Baden prior to retirement. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Baden and had served in the RCAF during the Second World War. Beloved husband of the former Margaret Bettschen who predeceased him May 17, 1985. Loving father of Janet and her husband Art Pommer of Listowel, Jean and her husband Lorne Anderchek of Ottawa and Shirley and her husband Ted Sivyer of Kitchener. Ever remembered by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survived by one brother, Arnold and one sister, Idella and her husband Lorne Rieck, all of Waterloo. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, today (Monday). 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 1993 at 10 a.m. transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Baden, for the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Stewart. Schroeder officiating. There will be a time of fellowship and lunch in the church. basement followed by interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Linwood.
