- Mrs. Mary Franklin - Mrs. Frederick Franklin passed away on Friday afternoon last at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Mewhinney, North Woolwich, in her 83rd year. Mrs. Franklin, who had been ill for the past year, was born near Hamilton and after her marriage in 1873 moved to Glenallan. Mr. Franklin predeceased her twelve years ago and after his death Mrs. Franklin came to Elmira, residing here with relatives until quite recently when she went to North Woolwich to live with her daughter, Mrs. Mewhiney. Four daughters and five sons survive, namely: Mrs. Alice Goodwin, Mrs. J. Klein of Elmira; Mrs. Brodhagen of Palmerston; Mrs. H. Mewhinney, North Woolwich; James of Palmerston; John, Kitchener; William of Elmira; Robert of Glenallan and Loman of Watson, Sask. A brother, Robert Fleet of Sarnia, also survives. The funeral took place on Monday, afternoon at one o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. Mewhiney to the Glenallan United Church for service, conducted by Rev. B. Eyre, assisted by Rev. J. Ure Stewart of Elmira. The remains were afterwards interred in the Glenallan cemetery.
