  RATZ - Dorothy Elaine "Dottie" (nee Shiry) On Monday, May 14, 2012, at the age of 91, Dottie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her friends and family. Beloved mother of Sue Mark and her husband Ron and Dave Ratz and his wife Fiona. Cherished grandmother of Jackie Barr (Mike), Tim Mark (Nicole) and Amy and Alec Ratz. Proud great-grandmother of Brayden and Kyla Barr and Keira Mark. Dottie joins her beloved husband, David Ratz with whom she shared 42 years of marriage until his passing in 1987. She is also predeceased by her parents, Earl and Dolly Shiry, her brother, Robert Shiry, her sister, Billie Rumney and her dear friend Doug Burch. Dottie was an avid curler and accomplished artist, but her joy could be found in her family. A Celebration of Dottie's life will take place at a later date. To honour Dottie's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and can be arranged by contacting the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home (519)745-9495.
