- Marie Gooding 1930-2010
Surrounded by her loving family, Marie passed away peacefully, in her 80th year, on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Columbia Forest Long-Term Care, Waterloo. She was the daughter of Mary and Jacob Lichty; married for 50 years to Reg Gooding, who predeceased her in 1999. Beloved mother of Michael and wife Susan Gooding, Debbie and husband Paul Mustin. Grandma of Courtney and Mallory Gooding, and Lindsey Mustin. Survived by sisters Edith Nafziger, Carol Connolly, Wilma Kelterborn, Emmaline Roes and Helen Ariss; brothers Norman Lichty, Allan Lichty, and Larry Lichty. Predeceased by sisters Frieda Gerber and Irene Shantz, brothers Eddie Lichty, Earl Lichty, Jack Lichty and Ken Lichty. Marie was a grateful woman who impressed everyone she met with her warm smile and positive outlook on life. She shared a special love with her granddaughters and a lifelong bond with her sisters, brothers and their families. She was a retiree of Cluett Peabody and long time member of Trinity United Church. Marie's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service to celebrate Marie's life in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Private family interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Kitchener- Waterloo would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Marie's family is most grateful to the staff of Watson House for the wonderful care and love she received during her years there. Visit www.henrywalser.com for Marie's memorial.
Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head hung low, Remember the love we once shared, Miss me but let me go.
