  ASMUSSEN, Del Surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 3, 2010 at his residence. Del Asmussen in his 81st year of RR 1, Elmira. Beloved husband of Jean (Delion) Asmussen for 63 years. Dear father of Harold (Tessie) of Kitchener, Jim (Kathy) of Elmira. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Harold, Heather (Raul), Jay, Shane (Katrina), Jason (Tasha), Mark (Ashlee), Trevor (Leslie), Sharon, Berlin, Apryll and by his 14 great-grandchildren. Brother of Leonard (Lois) of Coquitlam, B.C. and brother-in-law of Helen Asmussen and Bill Gerth. Predeceased by his parents William and Edna Asmussen and his brother Robert. At Del's request cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Del's life will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira, on Friday, May 7, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hans Borch officiating.
