    • MRS. CAROLINE AHRENS

      Mrs. Caroline Ahrens, 81, died at her residence, 218 Frederick Street, yesterday. She was born in Waterloo County, daughter of the late George Seiler and Elizabeth Schmidt. Mrs. Ahrens attended the Church of the Good Shepherd, where she served 27 years as treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary. She was a member of the eastern Star and a member of the board of the YWCA for many years, being treasurer of the board 23 years. Her husband, Henry J. Ahrens, died 11 years ago. Mrs. Ahrens was the last surviving member of her family.

      Surviving are three sons, Walter, George, and Carl, all of Tulsa, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. H.H. (Edith) MacDonald, Kitchener, and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A daughter Mrs. William (Mabel) Pickard, Toronto, died nine weeks ago.

      Public funeral service will be held at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, Saturday at 2: 30, with Rev. D.P. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. The remains are resting at the funeral home.
