  APPEL, Jack William - with family by his side, at Grey Gables Nursing Home on Monday, November 9, 2015, of Markdale, formerly of Kitchener, in his 73rd year. Loving and devoted husband of Margaret (nee Rieck) for 49 years. Dear father of Jeff (Charlene O'Grady) of Waterloo, and Krista (Carl) Rajsic of Ottawa. Loved and remembered by grandchildren William, Charlotte and Thomas. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Georgina Appel and brother George Appel. Jack will be missed by sister Judy Milton of Edmonton, and in-laws Royce and Carol Rieck, Jim (Jake) and Vicky Rieck, and Elaine and Leon Bender. Jack enjoyed spending time volunteering at Beaver Valley Ski Club in the winters, and getting to the golf course as often as he could in the summers. Jack was also an avid reader and woodworker and enjoyed sharing a good joke. The family will receive friends at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg on Saturday, November 14, 2015 for a memorial reception 2:30-4:30 p.m., with tributes at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions to the Markdale Hospital Building Fund or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
