  ASHBURY, Stanley E. - Stanley E. Ashbury of Hanover passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Thursday, June 27, 2002. He was 88. Loving husband of Esther (Schuknecht), born in Hanover on August 25, 1913, to the late Charles and Christine (Kobe) Ashbury. Together with his wife they owned and operated Ashbury's Antiques at 138 Fountain St. S., in Preston (Cambridge) from 1954-1999. He was also a textile mechanic until retiring and was a veteran of W.W.II and the R.C.A.F. He leaves to mourn his wife Esther whom he married on July 1, 1941, brother Morris and his wife Marie Ashbury of R.R. 2, Walkerton, a sister Olive Gruhl of Burlington, sister-in-law Phyllis Ashbury of Calgary, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Britton and his wife Greta, and Gerald Ashbury, sisters Hazel Ashbury, Gladys Greenwood and Betty Ashbury. Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service was held on Monday, July 1, 2002 at 2 p.m. Rev. Annette Smith officiated. Interment in Hanover Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of one's choice were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Unidentified Newspaper Obituary
