- JAMES ASTLEY
A resident of Galt for 15 years, James Astley of RR 2, Preston, died at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Saturday. Deceased was born in England, the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Astley and late James Astley. He was a former employee for 12 years of Stauffer-Dobbie, retiring three years ago. Mr. Astley was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and a veteran of World War I, serving in the Nineth Border Regiment. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving are his mother, wife Maria, five sons, James of Richmond, Ind.; Bryan, Preston; Gerry, Galt; Neil, RR 2, Preston; Kevyn, Preston; one daughter, Eve-Lyn at home, one brother, Vincent Astley of England and two sisters, Elizabeth and Edith both in England. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home, 39 Grand Ave. N., Requiem Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Tuesday, at 9 a.m. Parish Rosary will be recited, tonight, at 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount View Cemetery.
