    • BALDWIN, Gordon J. - On Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, in his 81st year, recently of Cambridge, but formerly of Cornwall, Ont. and for 40 years, of Hamilton, Ont. Survived by his beloved wife, Janet Elizabeth (Simms); daughter, Anne McIlroy and her partner Bill Aird of Willowdale; sons, Michael of Cornwall and Christopher of Hamilton and grandson, David McIlroy and Christie. Also survived by sisters, Audrey Putman of London, England and Hilary Power (Michael) of County Tipperary, Eire; nephew, Adrian Putman (Trisha) of London, England; his Aunt Peg Hamilton (Lionel) of London, England; sister-in-law, Doris Glenn of Vancouver, B.C.; brother-in-law, Frank Simms (Suzanne Dery) of Knowlton, P.Q. and niece, Kedrin Simms of Washington, D.C. as well as many cousins in Britain, Canada and the United States. Predeceased by wives, Kay (nee Allen) and Wilma (nee Glen) and daughters, Deborah and Jacqueline. Originally with the Taxation Accounting Department f the former Middlesex County Council then from July 1938, sergeant with Middlesex Regiment. Later with 60 SL Regiment IIAA Division. From 1941 Flight Lieutenant specialist Air Navigator 205 Squadron RAF, SEAC. He spent four decades with design Lithographers Ltd., Hamilton. He was active with the Council of Printing Industries of Canada and with the Graphic Arts Industries Association. He served on the board of the Children's aid Association of Hamilton, the Canadian Association for Community Living in Cornwall and was active in the Canadian Mental Health Association where he served as President of the Hamilton Branch, the Cornwall Branch and the Ontario Division, as well as sitting on the National Board. As well, he chaired the Community Advisory Committee of the Cornwall General Hospital Mental Health Programs and served as a member of the Community Advisory Board of Brockville Psychiatric Hospital and carried out assignments for the United Way and the District Health Council task forces in Hamilton. He is also a past member of the Hamilton Officers' Institute. A memorial service will be conducted at Coutts & Son Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at 1: 30 pm. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Hamilton branch or the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Oncology Unit.
