  S. FRED GROFF. WINNIPEG MAN Mr. S. Fred Groff is one of the younger of Berlin Old Boys. He was born in Berlin and is the eldest son of Mr. Samuel Groff. His early business training was acquired in the offices and shipping department of the W. G. & R. Co. There was laid a foundation on which he has builded a successful and promising career. After severing his relations with this firm he was, for several years in San Francisco holding a responsible position with a Guaranty Bond Company. But he was imbued with the thought that there are great prospects ahead for the young man with pluck and enterprise in the Canadian West, and with his father established the North West Button Company in Winnipeg. The business is growing with the country and as Secretary-Treasurer and head of the travelling men, Mr. Groff is responsible in no small measure for the success achieved. In addition to the button business, the Messrs. Groff handle a number of lines of Made in Berlin Goods. Among the firms they represent are the Berlin Suspender Co., Berlin Gauntlet Co., Star Whitewear Co., Reiner Bros., Wellesley, Galt Robe Co., and others.
