- BARNETT, Allen (WO1 Ret) - Peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in his 92nd year. He is survived by his wife Annie Jean Barnett, sons Ronald and Douglas (wife Beverly) and grandchildren David (wife Theressa), Debbie and Linda (husband Rob). His two great-grandchildren Colton and Dylan will also miss him. Allen was born in Midland, Ontario, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years. He served his country with distinction during the Second World War, following which he spend the remainder of his working life in the RCAF. His successful career saw him rise through the ranks and retire in 1965 with the rank of Warrant Officer First Class. He enjoyed his retirement and spent many family winters in Mexico. A memorial service and celebration of Allen's life will be held at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 2 pm.
