- Obituary of Bruce Rich
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Rich announces his passing. He passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre at age 81.
Predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Janet (nee Kieswetter) Rich in February, 2016. Survived by his five children and their spouses, Lynn Finney, Tim (Tina) Rich, Deb (Dave) Hudspeth, Kevin (Kerry) Rich, and Jennifer (Steve) Smith. Loving grandfather to Chris, Kayla, Tyler, Hailey, Sierra, Samantha, Jacob, Ryan, Emily, Kevin, Jessica, Madison, and Brandon. Great-grandfather to Carter. Brother-in-law to James Bauer, Brian (Sharon) Kieswetter, Bob (Rose) Kieswetter, and Sharon (Robert) Conaway. Also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Anne Rich and his sister, Bernice Bauer.
Bruce worked at his father, Edward Rich's shoe store, Rich's Shoes, in his early life. He then was the co-owner of Richcraft Interiors in Waterloo for many years until retirement in 2004. Bruce enjoyed restoring antique cars and after retirement loved woodworking. He loved his children and was very proud of us all.
Many thanks to the nurses at Freeport Hospital for your kindness and compassion to our father. He was a fighter until the end.
"God looked around his garden and found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, 'Peace be Thine'. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home."
Bruce's family will receive relatives and friends during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
Condolences for the family and memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com
