  Steckly, Catherine (Katie) - Peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2001 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener. Catherine was born 85 years ago in Wellesley township. Daughter of the late Daniel Gerber and the late Catherine Erb. Wife of Kenneth Steckly of Lyn, Ont., Anna Mae, Mrs Floyd Steinman of Wellesley, Kathryn, Mrs Ralph Schmidt of R.R.1, Millbank, Ont., Linda, Mrs Vernon Jantzi of Warren, Ont., and a daughter-in-law, Reta Steckly of Crogan, New York; sisters-in-law, Velma Gerber of New Hamburg, Ont., Emma Steckly of Brunner, Ont.,and Mary, Mrs John Zehr of R.R.1, Wellesley, Ont., and also by many nieces and nephews and by 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one grandchild Peter Steckly; brothers, Samuel, Daniel, John, Christian, David and Amos in infancy; sisters, Mary, Mrs John Jantzi, Annie, Mrs. David Jantzi, Annie, Mrs David Jantzi, Lena, Mrs Dan Brenneman, and Emma, Mrs Ezra Brenneman. Visitation was at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home. On Wednesday a family service was held at the funeral home. Followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bishop Arthur Gerber officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the AMA Belize Missions and St. Mary's General Hospital.
