Philip Gies Foundry |
- During the Second World War, like all manufactories, the Gies Foundry turned out products for the war effort 24 hours a day. After Philip's death, the company expanded, buying out Canada Valve and Hydrant of Brantford and moving to Manitou Drive in Kitchener. Further corporate changes saw the Gies name disappear and the firm became simply Canada Valve. In 2021, it is known as Canada Valve Waterworks, situated on Hanson Avenue in Kitchener.
