- BRODRECHT, JOHN HENRY RICHARD was born in Strathroy in 1881 the son of Mr. Werner Brodrecht. He taught school near Bright for three years before entering the University of Toronto where he graduated in medicine in 1905. He took postgraduate work in England and became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
In 1906 he established his practice in New Hamburg, where he remained until April 1909, when he sold out to Dr. R. W. Anderson and left for the western United States. He spent a couple of years in Alaska with the Copper River Railroad before settling in Spokane, Washington.
On January 23 1927 he died in Spokane leaving his widow and three daughters.
