    • BROWN, John Howard (Brownie) - John Brown, of Paris, passed away peacefully, at the Stedman Community Hospice, in Brantford, on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at the age of 67. Beloved husband for 46 years to Marilyn. Loving father of Michael and his wife Jodie of Perth, Australia and Shawna and her husband John Sharp of Glen Morris. Adored Papa of Kurtis and Savannah Brown and Tori and Alanna Sharp. Survived by his brother, Robert and his wife Pat, Paris; mother-in-law, Marian (Nelson) Adamson, Cambridge and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Douglas and Shirley Nelson of Cambridge John will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Helen Brown of Paris. John was a bricklayer by trade, but spent most of his life in retail. John and his Dad owned The Buck and Brownies Drive In in Cambridge. John and his brother owned Brownies Variety and Brownies Restaurant in Paris. John and Marilyn owned Thoughtful Moments Card and Gift Shoppe in Cambridge. John also did the maintenance and event bookings for the Paris Fairgrounds. John loved life, people and having coffee with "the boys" at Tim Hortons. He enjoyed building sandcastles with his children and grandchildren. John had a sweet-tooth; he loved chocolate, any sweets he could get his hands on, the tea shops in England and the bakeries in Australia. A service to celebrate John's life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Dwayne D. Budge11 Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris at 11 a.m. In honouring John's wishes, cremation has already taken place. Following the Memorial Service, the family will receive friends at Cedarview Evangelistic Centre, 20 Cedar Street, for a time of refreshment and sharing. In John's memory, donations to the Myelodysplasia Association of Canada or the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
