- Mr. Henry Weber is Called After a Lingering Illness
Was a Native of this Place and a Worthy Citizen.
There departed this life shortly after two o'clock on Saturday afternoon Mr. Henry Weber his death occurring at his home 42 South Cedar street, after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Weber's affliction began last Spring and during the greater of the time since then he had been confined to his bed. The affliction became more acute and hope for his recovery vanished. Yet the end came unexpectedly only a few hours prior to his death the deceased having been cheerful.
Mr. Weber's demise means the passing from this earthly, sojourn of a worthy citizen, who had many admirers. One of the town's native sons he was reared and spent all his life here, enjoying a wide acquaintance and the high opinion of not a few. Mourning over his loss is shared by them.
The subject of this reference was born in this town on July 10th 1858 He was married to Pauline Mottorf of this place, who with the following children survives: Mr. George Weber city: Miss Annie Weber at home; Mr. Harry Weber in Hamilton; Mr. Conre Weber and Mr. Fred Weber city; Mrs. Fred Yanke, city. There also are two sisters who are Mrs. J.G. Buchaupt and Mrs. Fred Reich, city.
The deceased was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2.30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon at the residence, 42 South Cedar street, after which interment will follow in the East End Lutheran Cemetery. The intelligence of Mr. Weber's death will be received with a sense of remorse by the citizens who recognize in him a true friend and a worthy resident of the community. They with the deceased's fellow employees at his place of duty in the W.G. and R. regret that he has been called from their midst. In the hour of trial they extend to the bereaved widow and family their condolences.

Caned the Retiring Manager
Russell's Cigar Factory Employees.
PRESENT MR. HY. WEBER WITH A CANE AND AN ADDRESS.
Mr. Henry Weber, the popular and able foreman at the Russell Cigar factory, has found it necessary to retire for a time owing to failing health, and concluded his term of service with the Company on Tuesday. The employees of the factory surprised him at his home on Tuesday evening and presented him with a fine gold-headed cane and the following address:
THE ADDRESS.
Dear Sir and Foreman:- Upon of the your approaching severance long and amiable relations existing between you our foreman and the employer and employees of the Russell Cigar Factory of Berlin, we cannot let the parting between us pass without showing our respectful regard for yourself and the happy days passed together in comradeship. It is and always will be a matter of congratulation between employers and employees, masters and servants, if the mutual duties between them are lived up to in where such Christian is love and charity and the case of long years, the breaking the ties is like taking a link out of a family circle.
Though we regret sincerely to lose you, our best wishes for the future with you. We cannot always sing "Wir eitzen so froehlich beisammen und haben einander so lieb," but to-day truly add "Es kann Ja nicht immier so bleiben." Changes of occupation and position in life only too truly remind us that we are but We wanderers on this will ever earthly think globe. We are sure you kind remembrance of the days we passed together.
Permit us, dear, friend, as a small token of remembrance to offer you this handsome cane, and that shall always lead you in the right path and protect night in and of day, vigor at home and abroad, days and venerable and respected old age.

Mr. Weber expressed his keen pleasure at this expression of good- will, in a few words of gratitude, after which supper was served and a few hours pleasantly spent together.
