    • JOHN BOLDT, HUDSONVILLE PIONEER, TAKEN BY DEATH

Hudsonville. June 7. - John Boldt, known by his hundreds of friends as Uncle John, died Wednesday morning. Had Uncle John lived till June 21 he would have been 89 years old. He was born in Germany and at the age of 22 moved to Canada, where he was married in 1856 and in 1866 moved to Grand Rapids, where he lived one year. He then moved his family to Georgetown, near Hudsonville, where he had purchased a wooded farm. There he cut an opening in the forest, built a log house and for 56 years had lived on the land he purchased. Besides the widow he is survived by two sons, Fred and William, and one daughter, Mary. The widow soon will reach her ninety-third birthday. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Georgetown cemetery.
