      Death of Mr. Christopher Wolfe at his Home, Queen Street Monday Morning - A Resident of Waterloo for Over 50 Years.

      Death removed another of Waterloo's oldest citizens in the person of Mr. Christopher Wolfe, Queen street, who died at 7.30 o'clock on Monday morning at the advanced age of 75 years, 5 months and 4 days. Deceased had enjoyed good health until last winter, but had been unwell since April. He was a market gardener and carried on a successful business in Waterloo.

      The late Christopher Wolfe was born in Epfenbach, Duchy of Baden, Germany, in 1830, and came to Canada with his father and two sisters in 1846, his mother having died when he was twelve years old. He settled, in Waterloo in the same year.

      In 1855 he was married to Anna Wolfe, who still survives, they having, celebrated their golden wedding two weeks ago. To them were born a family of sixteen children, six of whom survive. His father and one sister died 22 years ago. The surviving children are John, Christopher,
      Herman, Mrs. Ermel, Flora and Ida.

      The funeral took place from his late residence, corner of Queen and Princess streets, on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock to St. John's Lutheran church or service, thence to Mount Hope cemetery for interment.
