GALT, Joseph Nicholas Straub, 41 Queen St. E., Galt, died Thursday, at South Waterloo Hospital. He was 57. Mr. Straub was born in Romania and came to Canada, in 1928. He had resided in Galt, since 1937 and had been employed in the brass and hardware department at the Galt Malleable Iron Ltd., for 25 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's RC Church and a member of the Galt Royal Canadian legion branch. He served with the Highland Light Infantry of Canada, in the Second World War. He was a member of the HLI Association of Canada. Surviving are his wife, the former Julie Swiss; his mother, Mrs. Christina Straub of Galt; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Rosemary) Astley of Galt and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Bullen of Hespeler; one sister, Mrs. Rose Ulmer of Oakville and five grandchildren. The body will be at Coutt's and Son Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrew St., after 7 p.m. tonight. Mass will be held in the church Monday, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mountview cemetery.
