  Mrs. John McCarthy PRESTON, Dec. 15. Well-known resident of Preston for 20 years, Annie Brayshaw, wife of John McCarthy, died at her home, Galt highway, East Preston, last night at the age of 58 years. Mrs. McCarthy had been ailing for two years. Born in Manchester, England, she came to Canada, in 1911, living in Galt for a few years before moving to Preston. She was an Anglican by faith. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Ivy) Dillon and Mrs. William (Anne) Stafford; and one son, John McCarthy, Jr., of Galt; two brothers, Thomas Brayshaw and David Brayshaw and one sister, Mrs. Ethel McCartney, also of Galt, survive. There are eight grandchildren. A daughter, Elsie, predeceased her in 1924. The body is resting at the W. R. Coutts, Funeral Home, Galt. The funeral will be held, Friday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Galt. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 15 Dec 1949 pg 7
