  Emil Braun By Record Staff Writer PRESTON - Emil Edmund Braun, 93, of 146 Church St. South died at his home Saturday afternoon. Mr. Braun became ill two weeks ago, when he suffered a stroke. Native of Germany, he went to New York when he was 25, and lived in Waterloo and Guelph before he came to Preston in 1913. A painter and decorator, he operated his own business for many years, and specialized in decorating churches throughout the district. He retired 15 years ago. Mr. Braun was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. His wife, Lucinda Niergarth, and he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July. Survivors include Mrs. Braun, a son, Harry of Preston; six daughters, Mrs. Walter (Maude) Witthuhn, Waterloo; Mrs. Louise Silver, Preston; Mrs. Wallace (Gertrude) Brown, Brampton; Mrs. James (Irene) McAvoy, St. Catharines: Mrs. Percy (Margaret) Karn, Kitchener, and Mrs. Albert (Irene) Wilson, Preston: 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. The body is at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with burial at Parklawn Cemetery. Rev. J. S. Dauphinee will officiate.
