Notes |
- Jonathan was a great uncle of mine, a younger brother of my grandfather Abraham Uttley. He worked at Seagram's Distillery, never married and was a 'simple' man. I remember him being brought to my grandfather's house for family gatherings in the 1950s and I was told that he was brought from The Old Folks Home on Frederick Street (i.e. the House of Refuge). When he died in 1962 he was living at the new Sunnyside Home at 247 Franklin Avenue, the replacement for the Frederick Street building.
