Notes |
- PUMFREY, Olive May (nee Lindsay)
November 7, 1928 - December 7, 2015. Beloved mother to Susan Cottrell, Janice Wilson and Diane (Gary) Arnburg. Adored grandmother to Shannon, Micol and Jessica Cottrell, Nicholas and Rebecca Arnburg. Loving "sister"-in-law to Elizabeth Carson and Alice Pumfrey. Born in Dauphin, Manitoba, moved as a child to Shelburne, ON, then Paris, ON where she met her loving husband William "Bill" Pumfrey, while working as a telephone operator. After marrying in 1950, they lived in Windsor, then settled in Galt. They owned North End Confectionary on Norfolk Ave. for 10 years. Olive also worked for Mac's Milk, Elko and Windsor Wafers. Olive is predeceased by her husband Bill, parents John and Ethel Lindsay; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Laurene Lindsay; son-in-law, Jim Wilson, brother-in-law, Dave Carson and her Pumfrey inlaws: Robert and Amelia, Charles and Helen, Ted and Mary, Bob, Frank, Marie, June and Jack. Her priority was her family and we deeply appreciate her sacrifices for us. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Society - Let's stop this thief of personal quality of life and dignity. Thank you to the staff of St. Luke's and Comfort Keepers, especially Julie. Thank you mom for everything - I love you more. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, on Thursday, December 8, 2015, at 11 a.m., from the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow, at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.
