Passed away peacefully, at St. Andrew's Terrace, Cambridge, on Friday, December 11, 2015, in her 90th year. Audrey was born in Galt and remained a lifelong resident. Beloved wife of Tom W. Mercer for 68 years. Cherished mother of Donald Mercer (Jane) of Spencerville, Ontario and loving grandmother of Darren (Karren) of Gatineau, Quebec, Geoffrey (Rachael) of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Andrea of Gatineau, Quebec and Destiny of Spencerville, Ontario. Proud great-grandmother of Ethan, Mataya and Keeleigh of Gatineau, Quebec. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her parents, George and Clara Ashton of Galt, Ontario and brothers, John, Harold and baby Harry. During W.W. II, Audrey worked for the Government as an Anti-Aircraft Shell Inspector. She retired in 1983 from a career with Collier-Macmillan Publishing Company. She was a faithful member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, a Sunday School teacher, Jr. Choir Director, a Cub Leader and a volunteer at the David Durward Centre. The family sincerely thanks the staff and volunteers at St. Andrew's Terrace, for their loving care. Relatives and friends will be received at the T. Little Funeral Home and Cremation Centre , 223 Main Street, Cambridge, on Sunday, December 13, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at Westside Presbyterian Church, 130 Victoria Avenue, Cambridge, on Monday, December 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. Interment at Mount View Cemetery.
