      Peacefully, at his residence, 2155 Coronation Boulevard, Cambridge, in the loving company of his family, on Tuesday, July 18, 1995, in his 78th year. Devoted father of William Jr. (Bill) of Grimsby, Margaret Ann O'Krafka and Linda Tyler of Cambridge, Patricia (Patty) and her husband Neil Simpson of Branchton and their mother, Jean (Stevens) Meyer of Cambridge. Cherished Baba of Connie and David O'Krafka, Toshia and Bill Meyer, Scott and Jason Tyler and Michael Meyer and one great-grandchild, Jesse Meyer. Also survived by three sisters, Margaret Sternall of Whitby, Betty Zender of Detroit, Mich.. Elma Simon of Clawson City, Mich. and one brother, Carl of Royal Oak, Mich. Special friend of Midge Swain of Cambridge. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families and a number of close personal friends. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Martha (Thomas) Meyer and one brother, Harry J. Meyer. Mr. Meyer was born in Cambridge (Galt), on December 18, 1917, receiving his education in that city. He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, from 1931. A well known and respected member of the community. Mr. Meyer was President and General Manager of Thomas Construction (Galt) Limited, former President of Grand Valley Construction Association, former chairman General Contractors Section - Grand Valley Association and was an executive member of the Ontario Construction Association from 1975 to 1981. Mr. Meyer shared his knowledge and talent working with a number of community related groups including, member of Galt & Suburban Planning Committe from 1967 to 1980, member of Galt Hospital Board from 1946 to 1949 and for eight years, he sat as a member and former chairman of the Galt Parking Authority. His leisure time was spent with memberships in the Galt Country Club. Galt Lions Club, Seminole Fishing Club, Charter Member Probus Club of Cambridge and a member of the Galt Curling Club since 1940. A keen sportsman, Mr. Meyer was an avid curler, he was a member of the winning team for Governor General's Trophy (1946), winning team Britsh Consols Trophy (1948 O.C.A. ) and was a participant in the MacDonald's Brier (1948). His love for the sport led to his Presidency of the Galt Curling Club (1952), President of the Ontario Curling Association (1974-1975) and President Governor General's Club (1990-1991) and Vice Chairman Canadian Curling Association for Seniors Competition (1978-1980). Mr. Meyer held various senior executive organizing positions both locally and provincially. In 1944, Mr. Meyer became a member of the Masonic Alma Lodge AF & AM No. 72 and became a charter member of the Concorde Lodge AF & AM No. 722, Waterloo Chapter No. 32 Royal Arch Masons, St. Omer Perceptory No. 62 Royal City Lodge of Perfection 14th degree, Guelph Chapter Rose Croix 18th degree and Moore Sovern Consestory 32nd degree. In 1952, he became a member of Mocha Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of London. He was a member of the Waterloo County Shriners' Club from 1964 to 1972 and served as President in 1973. Mr. Meyer was a charter member of the Cambridge Shrine Club and served as President in 1973. A Member of the Royal Order Jesters - London Court No. 56, Kachina Klub (Arizona) Shriners' Hospital - 100 Million Dollar Club. Mr. Meyer was the third generation of his family to receive recognition with a 50 year Masonic pin. The Masonic Lodge will be holding a service on Thursday, July 20, 1995, at 7 p.m. Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home, 223 Main St. East., Cambridge, today (Wednesday), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 21, 1995, at Trinity Anglican Church, 12 Blair Road, Cambridge, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Grisdale officiating. Interment in Mount View Cemetery.
