  MERTENS - Ronald Wm. Peacefully, after a short illness at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Friday, February 9th, 1990, in his 50th year. Ron Mertens of Cambridge, beloved husband of Mae Mertens (nee MacKinnon) and loving father of Rhonda of Guelph and Christopher at home. Dear son of Irene Mertens and the late Paul Mertens Sr. and beloved brother of Paul Jr. and Miss Carol Mertens, dear son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Angus J. MacKinnon and their families. Ron was a letter carrier with the Galt Post Office, for 24 years, former convenor of the Galt Minor Hockey, played for many seasons with The French Hockey League. Ron was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Parish, friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home, 223 Main St. East, Cambridge, Sunday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Wellington St., Monday, 11 a.m., with Father Steve Csiszar celebrant. Interment Mountview Cemetry. Cambridge Reporter 1990
