Passed away suddenly, on Thursday, March 16th, 2000, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 58. Jerry was the beloved husband of Gregg (nee Cottrill) whom he married August 14, 1965. Loving father of Andrea and Philip & His wife Helena of Ottawa. Proud grandfather of Karl. He will be sadly missed by his devoted parents Mallard and Annie of Cambridge and sister Joan (Orobko) and her husband Steve of Niagara-on-the-lake and other family and friends. An elementary school teacher and music educator with the Waterloo County Board of Education, for 33 years, Jerry was for 10 years the director of the Fleming Grey Male Chorus, founding director of the New Hamburg Belle Ringers and active member of the Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers. Jerry was a sometime church organist, Royal Canadian Legion Bagpiper and member of the Waterloo County Shrine Club Oriental Band, he was also past-president of the New Hamburg Board of Trade and belonged to the New Dominion Lodge #205 A.F. & A.M. Recently, Jerry was very involved in the life of Zion United Church as Chairman of the Extension committee, as a member of the Patient Services Committee of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, and took particular delight in his involvement in the Wilmot Township Senior's Workshop Carving Club. Jerry will be fondly remembered by many whose lives were touched by his boundless enthusiasm and devoted efforts. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Sunday, March 19, 2000, from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2000, at Zion United Church, New Hamburg, at 1: 30 p.m. with Pastor Bob Thaler officiating.
