      The Lord called her home at the Nithview Nursing Home, in New Hamburg, on Sunday, August 31, 1997, in her 93rd year. Theresa Veenstra (nee Oostra) beloved wife of the late Hendrick Veenstra (1979). Dear mother of Joyce and her husband Jake Damsma of Kitchener, Martin and his wife Christina of Edmonton, Betty and her husband Jerry Vanderende of Milton and Bill and his wife Corry of Brampton. Loved grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 1 grandson Ekke Vanderende and was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by 5 sisters and 4 brothers. Mrs. Veenstra was recognized in 1984 in Washington D.C., by the United States Holocaust Memorial Conference, for the rescue of a 5 year old Jewish boy. She was a member of the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church of Cambridge. Friends will be received at COUTTS & SON FUNERAL HOME, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, on Tuesday, from 7-9 p.n. The Funeral Service will be conducted at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, Cambridge, on Wednesday, September 3, 1997, at 2 p.m., Rev. Ralph Koops officiating. Interment Mount View Cemetery.
