  Hawkesville - We are sorry to report the death of Mrs. Jacob Conrad, of Waterloo, whose death look place on Friday last at the age of 72 years. She was the mother of Mrs. Weidenhammer, who was with her during the last two weeks of her illness. DIED FRIDAY Had Been III For Several Months. In Her 73rd Year. Another of Waterloo's aged residents, passed away 2 o'clock, Friday morning, in the person of Wilhelmina Dorothea Louise Kriesel, wife of Mr. Jacob Conrad, at her home King St. north, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 18 days. Deceased suffered a paralytic stroke in December last and was since confined to her bed. The late Mrs. Conrad was born in Gartz, on the River Oder in Prussia, Germany, January 28th, 1836 and came to Waterloo in the year 1857, where she married Mr. Jacob Conrad the following year. She was of a quiet and loving disposition and a faithful member of the St. John's Lutheran Church. A family of twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Conrad, nine of whom survive: William, Caroline, Wilheimine (Mrs. C. Huehnergard); Elizabeth (Mrs. A. E. Sanderson).; Jacob, Charles, Martha Mrs. Elias Frey); Otillia (Mrs. Fred. Weidenhammer); Hawkesville; Alma (Mrs. Herbert Smith). A brother, Mr. Wm. Kriesel, New Dundee and 13 grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from the residence, King Street north, on Monday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, to St. John's Lutheran Church for service, thence to Mount Hope cemetery for interment.
