  SPRING, Daniel R. At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, October 29, 20011, Daniel Ronald Spring, aged 98 years. Daniel was a member of Beth Jacob Synagogue, his roots were in Galt (Cambridge) and they ran long and deep. As one of the founding members of Galt B’nal Israel Synagogue, he lived a charmed and full life in his beloved community for over 98 yeas. All who knew him will remember his love of family and country. His deep sense of civic responsibility has inspired his children and grandchildren, who are carrying on his legacy. Daniel's work with the Grand River Conservation Committee to revitalize the threatened river was recognized by the City of Cambridge, in June 2003. The pathway along the Grand River from Galt Collegiate Institute to Park Hill Road is named Dan Spring Way to commemorate his passion for saving the environment. It was Dan's wonderful sense of humour, playfulness and literary creativity that endeared him to all he met. Always positive, never judgmental and totally supportive of his diverse extended family, his presence will be deeply missed. Loving father to Rochelle Spring of Cambridge, Sylvia Spring and her partner Carolyn McAskie of Wakefield, Quebec and David and his wife Barbara Levine of Ottawa; beloved Puppy to Howard and Bethany Simons and Shanna and Alexander Spring. Predeceased by his parents, Hershel Spring and Basia Snow; his wives, Shanna Shapiro in 1972 and Ruth Gellman in 1995. Interment was made in the Jewish Section of Mt.
