Passed away suddenly, at his residence R.R. #1, Fergus, on Friday evening, March 31st., 1989. Doug Johnson in his 65th year is survived by his wife the former Marion Campbell and his daughters Pauline (Mrs. Wayne Hodgkiss) of Cambridge and Susan (Mrs. Mike Bell) of Jamestown, Tennessee. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Shelly and Cindy, as well as his nieces and nephews. Doug was a long time resident of Hespeler Cambridge, serving as Superintendent of Hespeler Hydro. He then moved to the Fergus area as a Superintendent of the Fergus P.U.C. A veteran of World War II, serving with the R.C.A.F. 422 nd Squadron. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275 Fergus and a former member of Branch 272 Hespeler. He was a member of New Hope Masonic Lodge, Cambridge. He served many years with the Hespeler Fire Department, retiring as Fire Chief in 1970. The family will receive friends at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, on Monday afternoon and evening, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 1989, at 2: 00 p.m., with interment to follow, at New Hope Cemetery.
