    • Carl Gerster, 52 Ezra avenue, well known citizen of Waterloo, died at the Kitchener- Waterloo Hospital Wednesday evening following serious operation. Mr. Gerster had been ill for only a short time. He was in his 80th year.

      He was born near Breslau and was a resident of this community all his life. He was a member of St. E. John's Lutheran church.

      Surviving are his wife, one son. Norman, of Waterloo, and six daughters, (Edith) Mrs. Joseph Stremble, Hespeler, (Anna) Mrs. Jack Hilborn, Preston, (Elizabeth) Mrs. Walter McCaffrey, Toronto, (Kathleen) Mrs. (Dr.) Leighton Gilbert, Toronto, (Minnie) Mrs. Fred.
      Tomkinson, Schumacher, Ont., (Carrie) Mrs. Frank Dopp, Kitchener. Two sisters, Mrs. Louise Devitt of Hespeler and Mrs. William Moore of Rockville, N. Y., also survive.

      The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 from his late residence to Mount Hope cemetery. In the absence of Rev. C. S. Roberts, Rev. J. Schmieder, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, Kitchener, will conduct the services.
