  THE LATE MRS. AIKEN An old and respected resident of Galt, passed away on Monday last, at 7: 30 p.m., in the person of Helen Deans, relic of the late Robert Aiken, at the advanced age of 89 years and 5 months. Deceased was born in Dumfriesshire, Scotland and came to Canada about 60 years ago. She settled in Dumfries, along with her people, for a short time and after her marriage removed to Galt. Her husband died here in 1846 and she then lived with her son, Thomas, who for a time kept the Central hotel here and also the hotel at Roseville. From the time of his death, which took place about 21 years ago, she has resided with her daughter, Mrs. Daniel Ferguson, at whose residence she quietly passed away, respected by all with whom she came in contact. Deceased leaves two daughters, Mrs. D. Ferguson of Galt and Mrs. M. Wells of Michigan and also a brother, Mr. James Deans of Galt, to mourn her loss. The funeral took place from the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. D. Ferguson, corner of Colborne and King streets, on Wednesday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, to Mount View cemetery.
