FIGUEIREDO, Pedro 'Peter'

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 81. He will forever be missed by his devoted wife, Maria da Gloria, who selflessly cared for him for many years. Cherished father and greatest hero to his only daughter, Suzy (Antonio Pinto). Adored grandfather of Tanner (Ashley) and Tienna. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his sisters; Deolinda Monteiro, Laurinda Reis, his Godchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, and siblings; Antonio, Jose, Agostinho and Maria Jesus. Peter displayed courage, strength and WILL throughout his life, embracing every obstacle with dignity and a smile. Peter was the patriarch of the Figueiredo family and will forever leave a lasting legacy. He immigrated to Canada in 1962 and was an active member of the Portuguese community. Though he resided in Cambridge, Bayfield would always be his second home. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N. Cambridge, where the family received friends on Sunday, August 27, 2017, from 4: 30-8: 30 p.m., with Rosary being recited in the funeral home chapel, at 7: 30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial, was celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 185 Elgin St. S., Cambridge, on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Parklawn Cemetery.
