- RAPOSO, Maria da Conceicao Arruda
With great sadness, the family announces the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, August 24, 2017, at the age of 87. Beloved mother of Carlos Raposo and his wife Fernanda, Aldevina Pereira and her husband Durval, Maria Joao Duarte and her husband Diogo. Loving "Vavo" to Marlon Duarte and his wife Jessica, Stacey Duarte, Shawn Duarte of Cambridge and Joao Daniel Raposo and his wife Kelly and Raquel Raposo of Terceira, Acores. Proud "Bissa" to Alice Raposo. She will also be lovingly remembered as a "Vavo from the Heart" by Mariana and missed by her brother Manuel Arruda (Laura) of Santa Cruz, Lagoa in Sao Miguel and her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Maria is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Joao (1977) and her son Jaime Francisco (1970). She was born in Santa Cruz, Lagoa in Sao Miguel and moved to Agualva in Terceira, Acores, as a young bride. Thirty-three years ago, she came to live in Cambridge to help raise her grandchildren. Her family will always miss her love and care, even the family dogs. She was a very creative person; she loved baking, sewing, needlework and crocheting. Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at the T. Little Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 223 Main St., Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 5 - 8 p.m. Prayers at 7: 30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 185 Elgin Street South, Cambridge, on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. Burial at New Hope Cemetery.
