  JAS. ALLEN DEAD Taken Ill While Visiting His Daughter - Sick But Six Days From Monday's Daily. A couple of months ago, Mr. James Allen, North Water street, went to visit his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Weaver, near Otterville. Six days ago he was taken ill with pleurisy. Saturday afternoon, his wife was summoned. She reached his bedside at 9 o'clock at night and at 4 yesterday morning, he died. The deceased who was in his 74th year, was born in Ayrshire, Scotland. He came to Canada, with his father, when a boy and for the last 24 years had lived in Galt. He carried on a boot and shoe business, until five years ago, when he retired. He was twice married, five children from the second union with their mother surviving are: John, Mrs. Theodore Weaver, Mrs. Geo. Weaver, Andrew and Thomas. Deceased was a member of the U.P. church and in poltics a Liberal. The funeral will take place from the family residence, North Water St., at 1 30 o'clock, tomorrow afternoon, to Mount View cemetery.
