Notes |
- Connewarf, Barbara Elizabeth
The angel of death has again visited our village, this time taking away Mrs. Connewarf, who quietly crossed the bar at 1 o'clock last night. The deceased has been ill for the past two weeks and although expected, her death will cause a shock to all in the community, as she was a woman whose true worth spoke for itself. The late Mrs. Connewarf, was born in Bruheim, Germany, in 1823 and was married to her surviving husband, in 1846. They came to Hespeler, forty six years ago, where they resided for sometime, before removing to Morriston. They again returned about 24 years ago and have been respected residents of this village, since that time. Besides a sorrowing husband, the deceased leaves seven children. The children who mourn the loss of a patient and loving mother, are: Henry, Buffalo, Charles, Galt; John, Hespeler; Mrs. Howarth and Mrs. Schonfeldt, Toronto and Mrs. Maule, Hespeler. Mrs. Conncwarf had reached the ripe old age of 73 years, 7 months and 28 days. She had previously been in good health, but was subject to paralytic strokes, to which dread disease she succumbed at last. The funeral takes place Saturday afternoon, at 1.30 to the Hespeler cemetery, services to be conducted by the Rev. B. H. Bean, pastor of the Evangelical church.
