Notes |
- Death of Wm. Ira Anderson
A well known and life long resident of Beverly Township, in the person of William Ira Anderson, died on Sunday morning, after a very brief illness, at the residence of his brother-in-law, Mr. Wm. R. Scrimger, in Galt. Deceased was only taken ill on September 5th., although for some time previously he had complained of something being the matter with his head. The day mentioned he, drove into town with Mr. Scrimger and his illness proved to be of such a nature that he was unable to be removed to his home. Although known to be seriously ill, yet it was not thought the result would be fatal and his death coming somewhat suddenly, was a surprise and proved quite a shock to his friends, many of whom were not aware of his sickness, until told of his death. Deceased was aged 54 years. A post-mortem was held yesterday, by Dr. Cameron and Acheson and the cause of death proved to be an abscess in the head. The late Mr. Anderson was born and lived all his life on the farm in Beverly, near Clyde. His father, the late Mr. Wm. T. Anderson, came to that township, 61 years ago. Deceased, although never taking an active Interest in public affairs, was well known throughout the township and surrounding country and his sudden and early death will be generally regretted by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He leaves a widow and three of a family. One sister, Mrs. WM. R. Scrimger, and a brother, living in Toronto, also survive him. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, at two o'clock, from his late residence, Lot 4, Con. 10, Beverly, to Mount View cemetery.
