    • GORDON CUMMING

      Sgt. Pilot Charles Gordon Cumming, son of Dr. and Mrs. C. R. Cumming, Ainslie street south, is with the R.C. A.F. as a pilot. He enlisted on Dec. 19, 1940, and is now overseas. Sgt. Pilot Cumming was born in Galt and attended public school and the Collegiate here. Previous to his enlistment he was rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the coming young artists. His paintings of flowers and received particular recognition. At the Collegiate he played rugby and he was one of the top flight golfers at the local club. His religious denomination is United.

      CUMMING, CHARLES GORDON F/O(P) J15838. From Galt, Ontario. Killed In Action Mar.13/43 age 21. #403 Wolf Squadron (Stalk And Strike). F/O. Cumming lost his life when his Spitfire aircraft # BK 625 was shot down at Le Touquet, France. Flying Officer Pilot Cumming was buried in the Helden Cemetery, Le Touquet, exhumed, and reburied in the Calais Canadian War Cemetery, Leubringen, Pas de Calais, France.
