- WALKOWSKI, Witold
August 2, 1960 - December 15, 2017. With great sorrow we bid farewell to Witold, who died in peace while traveling in Australia. Witold lived his life with gratitude, compassion and most of all, love. He adored his wife, Urszula: he was the heart of their family and she was his rock. Love sparked during the Solidarity strikes, while both were attending Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and they were married 9 months later. Daughters, Maria, Justyna and Alexandra were his greatest source of pride. He is forever their hero. Born in Dabrowa Górnicza, Poland, to Jadwiga and Zenon Walkowski, Witold was a patriot who loved his Poland. However, his dreams of freedom and democracy brought him to Canada, to start a new life for his young family. Witold maintained a close bond with his beloved brother, Stanislaw, and his homeland, despite the distance. Among his many accomplishments in Canada, Witold established Applied Automation Canada Inc. He also worked to build a community, for Polish immigrants, through his contributions to various organizations. He will be remembered for his open heart and ability to create a sense of family, for those who needed it most. Witold is survived by his wife Urszula, their daughters; Maria (Dawid) Robczuk, Justyna Walkowski (Luka Pavlovic), Alexandra (Samuel) Snell, granddaughters Anna and Maya Robczuk, and Elizabeth Snell, and his brother Stanislaw Walkowski. He will be missed by many extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE - 223 Main Street, Cambridge, on Friday, December 29, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 210 South St., Cambridge, on Saturday, December 30, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Cemetery.
